• No LessLate account is required.
• Reminder records, saved trips, routines, preferences and departure history are stored on your iPhone.
• Departure detection is processed on your device. Map and route features make separate requests to Apple Maps.
• RevenueCat helps validate purchases and manage Pro entitlement.
• Optional usage analytics is off by default. It starts only if you turn on Share anonymous usage analytics.
• No location data, reminder names or user entered text is sent to Mixpanel.
• LessLate does not use IDFA or cross company tracking for analytics. There are no advertising trackers on this website.

Reminders and location on your iPhone

LessLate uses location to save a starting point and check whether you have left it. Always Location access and Precise Location support that check while your iPhone is locked or another app is open. You control those permissions in iPhone Settings.

Local records can include starting coordinates, destination details, reminder names, alarm times, saved trips, weekly routines, settings and departure outcomes. LessLate does not upload these records to a LessLate account or server.

Apple’s device backup services may include app data according to your device settings. Deleting an app does not necessarily delete a separate backup.

System alarms, notifications and eligible Live Activities can show reminder information. The app offers a control to hide the destination on the Lock Screen.

Apple Maps requests

Apple MapKit provides maps, destination search and journey estimates. These requests may send search text, map areas, starting and destination coordinates, travel mode and requested journey times to Apple as needed to provide those features. This is separate from Mixpanel analytics.

Apple processes these requests under Apple’s Maps privacy information. It would be inaccurate to say that all location information always stays on the phone.

Purchases and RevenueCat

Apple processes App Store payments. LessLate uses RevenueCat to validate purchase status, restore purchases and determine whether Pro is active. RevenueCat may process its generated app user identifier, transaction and receipt information, subscription status, product identifiers and related purchase metadata.

No LessLate account, location coordinates, reminder names or destination content is supplied to RevenueCat by LessLate. Payment card details are handled by Apple and are not supplied to LessLate.

Optional usage analytics with Mixpanel

Share anonymous usage analytics is off by default. You can find it in Set → More → Privacy and Analytics. Choosing not to share does not remove app features.

After you opt in, the app sends a limited set of product events to Mixpanel’s EU ingestion endpoint. Events cover app sessions, tabs, reminder setup and results, cancellations, alarm opening, departure checks, follow ups, journey outcomes, routine actions, paywall views, purchase or restore results and permission results.

LessLate uses a random pseudonymous installation identifier. It does not identify that installation with your name, email, Apple Account or RevenueCat identifier. “Anonymous” is the setting’s name; the event records are more precisely described as pseudonymous because events from an installation can be grouped together.

What is included

Controlled event names and limited categories such as success, cancellation, failure, travel setup mode or broad duration buckets. The SDK also supplies standard event timestamps, the random identifier and limited delivery metadata. A purchase result event records whether a purchase or restore succeeded, was cancelled or failed.

What is excluded

Location coordinates, addresses, reminder names, exact alarm times and user entered text are not sent to Mixpanel. LessLate’s Mixpanel product events do not include product identifiers, prices, currencies or receipts. No IDFA, IDFV, session replay, automatic interaction capture, identity profiles or cross company tracking is used.

IP based geolocation is disabled. As with any internet request, Mixpanel’s network infrastructure receives the connection’s IP address; disabling geolocation prevents the SDK from using it to enrich events with a location. LessLate sends no location data to Mixpanel.

Turning it off

Opting out stops future analytics, clears the unsent SDK queue and resets the analytics identifier. It does not delete events already received by Mixpanel. See Your choices and rights for applicable requests.

App privacy data categories

The App Store privacy data categories are summarised below. These describe the purposes of the data, including optional analytics when you have consented.

Purchase History includes purchase and entitlement functionality through RevenueCat, plus the controlled purchase or restore result event sent to Mixpanel when analytics is enabled.

Website and support

This website has no analytics scripts, advertising trackers, forms or cookies added by LessLate. Fonts and images are served with the site. GitHub Pages hosts it and can process IP addresses and technical request information needed to deliver and secure the website. See GitHub’s privacy statement.

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you send. Email is handled through Gmail under Google’s privacy policy. Please share only what is needed to help with your request.

Following a link to the App Store or another provider takes you to a service with its own privacy terms.

Why information is processed

Where data protection law applies, the purposes and legal bases are:

• Consent for optional usage analytics. You can withdraw it in the app. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.
• Providing the service and purchases you request for app and subscription functionality.
• Legitimate interests in answering support requests, maintaining service security and understanding subscription operations, subject to your rights.
• Legal obligations where records must be retained by law.

Retention, security and international processing

App records remain on your device until removed through available app controls, app deletion or device management, subject to any backups you keep. Providers may retain purchase, technical or analytics records for their service purposes and legal obligations. Support correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and related obligations.

The app uses Mixpanel’s EU ingestion endpoint. That endpoint alone is not a promise that every provider operation occurs only in the EU. Apple, RevenueCat, Mixpanel, GitHub and Google may process information internationally under their applicable terms and safeguards.

We use the app’s limited event design and consent controls to minimise what is shared. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and rights

You can change app permissions in iPhone Settings, switch optional analytics off in LessLate, manage local reminders and routines, and manage subscriptions through Apple.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or receive your personal data, restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent. Use Contact LessLate support to make a request.

LessLate has no account that automatically connects a person with their random analytics identifier. We may need information sufficient to locate a record, and may be unable to identify particular pseudonymous events. The app does not currently offer a way to display that identifier. We will explain what can be actioned; turning analytics off alone is not a request to erase earlier events.

You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data protection authority.
